Michael received a B.S. in physics and mathematics in 2000 from the University of Indianapolis and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2008.
As an undergraduate and graduate student, Michael was a teaching assistant, which enabled him to pursue his love of physics and teaching. In 2002 he received the Scott Anderson Physics Assistant Award from the University of Illinois in recognition of his teaching assistance, and was a regular on the University's "Incomplete List of Teachers Ranked Excellent by Their Students." His doctoral work was in the field of physics education research.
Michael is responsible for media components for Novapta, encompassing animations, illustrations, and web design.
